Job Title: Natural History Collections Conservator

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join its team as a Natural History Collections Conservator. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the preservation and conservation of the university's extensive natural history collections.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for providing high-quality conservation treatments to a range of materials found in natural history collections, including taxidermy specimens, fossils, and artifacts.
  • Assist with the management of preventive conservation activities, including environmental monitoring and integrated pest management (IPM) in a museum setting.
  • Work collaboratively with curators, researchers, and other stakeholders to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of the collections.

Requirements:

  • A recognized professional conservation qualification to degree level or equivalent, with emphasis on the conservation of natural history collections.
  • Demonstrated practical skills in the conservation of a range of materials found in natural history collections.
  • A proven interest and experience working with natural history collections.
