Job Title: Director, Asset Finance Sales

Location: London (Hybrid, 4 days at office initially)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Asset Finance with a sales background to lead a high-performing, rapidly growing department. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of asset finance products such as leasing, hire purchase, asset refinancing, and structured finance, as well as expertise in both hard and soft asset financing, including heavy machinery, commercial vehicles, technology assets, and the fit-out industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop sales strategies to enhance client offerings, build key relationships, and drive strong sales results, ensuring solutions meet the evolving needs of clients across various industries.
  • Lead a high-performing sales team within the asset finance industry, driving consistent performance through strategic planning.
  • Manage risk and analytical skills to ensure that deals are structured in line with business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and lenders, allowing for effective partnership-building and negotiation of favorable finance terms.
  • Stay up-to-date with asset finance regulations, FCA guidelines, IFRS 16 (lease accounting), and other relevant compliance factors.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the asset finance sector, expanding into new markets and sectors such as renewable energy, construction, and logistics.
  • Develop talent within a sales and finance environment, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and team performance management.
Requirements:
  • Extensive asset finance expertise, including knowledge of leasing, hire purchase, operating leases, and refinancing.
  • Cross-sector knowledge, with experience working with a wide range of assets, including hard assets and soft assets.
  • Sales leadership and strategy development, with proven experience in building and leading successful sales teams.
  • Risk management and analytical skills, with a strong understanding of credit analysis, risk management, and asset depreciation models.
  • Vendor and lender relationships, with established networks and negotiation skills.
  • Regulatory and market knowledge, with familiarity with asset finance regulations and compliance factors.
  • Business development, with a track record of identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
  • Team leadership, with experience in developing talent within a sales and finance environment.
