About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Manager to lead our Place Based Thinking programme, ensuring the delivery of innovative and sustainable capital investment projects that align with Anglian Water's commitment to environmental and social prosperity.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a talented engineering team, driving collaboration, embracing new technologies, and implementing nature-based solutions to address the unique challenges of the East of England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design delivery for the Place Based Thinking programme, ensuring high-quality engineering outputs that meet project standards.
  • Develop and manage the engineering resource strategy, allocating resources effectively to meet project demands.
  • Fulfil the role of CDM Principal Designer, prioritizing health, safety, and compliance in all design activities.
  • Foster collaboration within the leadership team and with key stakeholders, driving the successful delivery of business objectives.
  • Champion innovation and sustainability, integrating nature-based solutions and new digital technologies into the programme.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in Engineering, with Chartered Engineer status being highly desirable. You will bring extensive experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary design teams within a design and build environment, particularly in the delivery of complex capital projects.

With a strong focus on health and safety, you will be adept at fulfilling the responsibilities of a CDM Principal Designer, ensuring safety is at the forefront of all design activities. You will excel in fostering collaboration, both within your team and with external stakeholders, driving innovative and sustainable solutions that align with place-based thinking.
