Job Description

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant in Feltham.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in fostering the academic and personal growth of students with SEMH needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour support plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among students.
  • Facilitate emotional regulation strategies and interventions.
  • Support students during transitions and unstructured times.
  • Monitor and track student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or SEMH setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting student development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.

For this role, you will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the development of students with SEMH needs.
