Job Description

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs in Feltham.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about fostering academic and personal growth in students with SEMH needs.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in providing tailored support, assisting teachers in the classroom, and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour support plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among students.
  • Facilitate emotional regulation strategies and interventions.
  • Support students during transitions and unstructured times.
  • Monitor and track student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or SEMH setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting student development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
