About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Autism Support Assistant to work with students aged 11-16 in Barnet secondary schools. In this role, you will provide essential one-on-one and group support to students with autism, helping them navigate school life and reach their potential in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with school staff, SEN specialists, and parents to tailor strategies that support each student's unique needs.
  • Assist in creating a structured, inclusive environment, helping students with social skills, classroom participation, and emotional resilience.
  • Provide support to students with autism, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic potential.

Requirements:

  • Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in SEN support or working with children with autism is highly valued.
  • Training or qualifications in SEN or youth support are advantageous but not required.
