About Us

Oxfordshire County Council's Health Education and Social Care service supports a population of 700,000 people across the county. We are bringing our local authority and health commissioning, education, and health services together in a fresh approach to ensure even better results for our residents.

About the Role

As a Brokerage Officer, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and sourcing high-quality care and support packages for individuals. You will work closely with operational services providers and service users to identify and establish effective care arrangements for children and young people.

Key responsibilities include sourcing a wide range of placements, including fostering, residential, secure, semi-independent, and transition placements. You may also be required to source other services to complement care and support packages for children and young people.

About You

We are looking for candidates with a degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Health, Education, Social Care, or Commissioning. Previous experience of purchasing, sourcing, contract management, or financial management in either a private or public sector background is essential. Ideally, you will have experience of working in a children's brokerage environment and an understanding of the children's health and social care system.

We are also looking for candidates with excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in partnership with stakeholders at all levels, and the capability of working flexibly in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be comfortable analysing data and have good IT capabilities.

What We Offer

We offer a generous holiday allowance, access to a Local Government Pension Scheme, and a range of local and national retail discounts. We are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion and have a number of staff network groups to support our diverse workforce.

We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults. We are open to discussions about flexible working and offer a range of flexible working options, including flexi-time, part-time working, job sharing, and annualised hours.
