Job Title: Senior Social Worker - Domestic Violence Team

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Domestic Violence Team in a rewarding agency role, providing critical support to children and families experiencing domestic abuse.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert social work support to children and families at risk due to domestic abuse.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency colleagues from children's social care, health, education, police, and community organisations to ensure a comprehensive response.
  • Offer guidance and best practice support to the wider workforce dealing with domestic abuse cases.
  • Contribute to daily duty support, ensuring that first responses to domestic abuse align with good practice and promote safety.
  • Represent children's social care at forums like MARAC, MAPPA, and daily risk meetings, contributing to risk assessment and safety planning.
  • Lead on assessments involving complex cases such as honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and female genital mutilation, alongside locality teams.
  • Deliver and support learning initiatives, including the Caring Dads Programme, and help disseminate its outcomes and insights.
  • Stay informed on local and national policies and practices related to domestic abuse to ensure the service aligns with the latest standards.

Key Requirements:

  • SWE Registration (essential).
  • Extensive experience in social work, particularly with cases of domestic abuse.
  • Strong collaboration skills with multi-agency teams.
  • Excellent risk assessment and safety planning capabilities.
  • Commitment to supporting the ongoing development and training of the wider service.
