We are seeking an experienced Fleet Controller to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our extensive truck and trailer fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our fleet, including maintenance, repairs, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance of Fleet and Equipment: Ensure that planned maintenance is efficiently organized and documented using our fleet management platform.
- Breakdown and Repair Management: Receive all vehicle and equipment breakdown and damage repair requests and take the appropriate action with our service agents, workshop, or dedicated Mobile fleet support team.
- Fleet Maintenance Documentation: Record all fleet maintenance activity accurately and efficiently using our fleet management software.
- Customer Communication: Ensure customers are advised of any issues regarding fleet maintenance or breakdowns.
- Liaison with Workshops and Engineers: Liaise with all workshops, mobile, and third-party engineers to organize fleet maintenance tasks.
- Breakdown Call Management: Receive all breakdown calls and allocate engineers/service agents accordingly.
- Fleet Compliance: Maintain records for road tax and MOT schedules ensuring vehicles and trailers are compliant for road use.
- Cost Control: Control and approve repair costs, authorizing vehicle warranty and maintenance repairs within financial control limits.
- Reporting: Provide accurate reports to fleet and operational teams as requested to inform colleagues on agreed performance parameters.
- Experience in HGV mechanics/administration.
- Confident understanding of HGVs and/or trailers.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Monday to Friday: 8am to 5:30pm.
- 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota from 8am to 12pm.
- 20 days holiday plus all bank holidays.
- Loyalty Bonus: After 2 years of service (1 day additional holiday and up to an extra 5 days after 7 years).
