Senior Operations Manager

Job Summary
The Senior Operations Manager plays a key role in our operations team, managing a medium-sized team of primarily team leads and production/manufacturing staff in a busy Aerospace interiors manufacturing business. In this role, the Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overall performance of a small batch high mix manufacturing capability responsible for the manufacture of a wide range of aircraft interior parts via our CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, paint and assembly cells.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees production operations (shop floor management, workforce management, and flow disruption management).
- Manages and supervises the work of manufacturing production disciplines in the Operations function.
- Performs professional or management work regularly across multiple Manufacturing disciplines.
- Drives positive employee workplace experience.
- Ensures all quality related items are complete and documented to meet established quality standards.
- Monitors manufacturing production performance to business KPI's for Safety, People, Quality, Delivery and cost.
- Drives a Continuous improvement culture across the operations workforce focusing on process improvement to ensure efficiency of operations is meeting company targets.
- Supports scheduling initiatives so that production schedules are completed in line with customer demand.
- Supports warehouse and distribution management in coordinating activities for materials and logistics problem resolution to ensure materials availability is in line with production schedules.
- Ensuring strict adherence to all Health & Safety, Ethics, Compliance, and Quality protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant Operations experience is required
- Prior Supervisory experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong people leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skillset
- Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to apply quantitative and qualitative thinking to problems.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
