We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in enhancing the patient's pathway from referral to treatment through the Ophthalmology Outpatient department.
Main Responsibilities- Carry out essential tests to support the work of medical and nursing staff in the Eye Department, including visual acuity and OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomographer) imaging.
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Develop skills to support the patient's pathway from referral to treatment, including training others as needed.
- GCSE in English and Maths (or equivalent skill level)
- Previous experience within a healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology or a related field.
- Good communication skills, able to communicate verbally and in writing to staff, patients, and relatives.
- Able to prioritize workload and manage own time effectively.
