Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Podiatrist to join our Offender Health team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality podiatric care to patients within our healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough assessments and provide treatment plans for patients with a range of podiatric conditions, including nail surgery, MSK/biomechanics, wound care, and diabetes care.
  • Capacity Assessment: Assess patients' capacity to consent to treatment and work within a legal framework to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Specialist Advice and Training: Provide expert advice and training to other members of the multidisciplinary team as required.
  • Clinical Governance and Risk Management: Demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance and risk management principles and apply them to your work.
  • Representation and Communication: Represent our organization externally and promote understanding of our podiatry services to patients, relatives, and carers.
  • Equipment Management and Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation, adhere to company policies, and ensure safe use of equipment.
  • Health and Safety: Be aware of health and safety aspects of your work and implement policies to improve the safety of your work area.
Requirements
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Podiatrist.
  • Experience in offender health or a similar setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of clinical governance and risk management principles.
