About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Podiatrist to join our team at Totally, working in Offender Health. As a Senior Podiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality podiatric care to patients within our HMP settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage your own clinical caseload, including the management of any waiting lists in partnership with the HMP site.
  • Maintain professional standards and comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your work, including the management of patients in your care.
  • Assess capacity, gain valid informed consent, and work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
  • Deliver a wide range of podiatric treatments, including nail surgery, MSK/biomechanics, wound care, diabetes care, and routine care based on the patients' needs.
  • Provide advice and instruction to patients to facilitate and encourage appropriate self-care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and carers to ensure understanding of the condition.
  • Provide specialist advice, teaching, and training to other members of the multidisciplinary team as required.
Requirements:
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in podiatry, particularly in Offender Health.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, including Clinical Governance and Risk Management.
