We are seeking a skilled Global Banking Specialist to join our team at Goldman Sachs. As a Global Banking Specialist, you will be responsible for providing Investment Banking clients with advice and services relating to their credit profile, capital structure, financing optimisation, and credit ratings.

The Rating Advisory team is responsible for providing Investment Banking clients with advice and services relating to their credit profile, capital structure, financing optimisation, and credit ratings. The team sits within the European Financing Group and works in tandem with our Investment Banking, Merger & Acquisition, and Financing Group colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting related discipline and experience with modelling and financial statements analysis. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, are also essential.

The successful candidate will be able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines, and will be able to work flexibly as part of multiple teams and autonomously. They will also be able to juggle changing priorities and a varied workload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform capital structure analysis in the context of strategic corporate transactions such as M&A, LBOs, IPOs, restructurings, etc
  • Estimate potential rating impact of transactions
  • Contribute to commercial effort to identify and win new business opportunities
  • Develop and audit financial models applied to credit and rating assessments
  • Participate in inaugural ratings processes for clients
  • Develop relationships with market participants including corporate CFOs, Treasurers, as well as capital markets professionals at financial sponsors
  • Develop knowledge of rating agency methodologies, track evolutions of criteria
  • Establish a network of contacts at the rating agencies
  • Participate in client meetings
