Network Infrastructure Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Telecoms professional to join Northern Powergrid, a leading energy company in the Northeast, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.
Our vision is to deliver a power network that meets the region's needs, now and in the future. We are looking for a skilled Telecommunications Technician to support our IS Operations Manager (Telecoms) and Lead Engineers in the management of incidents and maintenance functions within the Northern Powergrid region.
The ideal candidate will have a proven technical background and a keen interest in Telecoms systems and technology. They should have knowledge of Incident management systems and/or service desk environments, as well as the ability to provide technically orientated user support at a level understood by non-technical users.
We offer a competitive salary between £32,689 - £47,541, along with great benefits including:

• Ensure delivery of the maintenance and incident functions within telecoms operations
• Provide support for the Telecoms operational and Non-operational Networks
• Participate in the Telecommunications out of hour's standby provision
• Make judgement on fault priorities and restoration strategy using network management tools and the incident reporting systems
We require a candidate with a Higher Education Qualification (FHEQ) - Level 3 or equivalent, and two years experience of Copper/fibre cable systems, Digital Microwave / Transmission Systems, or IP or Telecoms Networks.
