We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Gwent Police, working in a hybrid environment from our headquarters in Cwmbran. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for providing financial stewardship and business management support to efficiently deliver the OPCC's priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deputise for the Head of Finance in times of absence or unavailability, providing resilience across the other Accountants' portfolios and supporting the Head of Finance in delivering robust business planning and business change initiatives.
  2. Work with the other Senior Accountants to ensure the priorities and demands of the Project/Assistant/Support Accountants, Cashier, Payments Team Leader, and Payments Assistants are managed effectively, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of workload.
  3. Motivate and develop staff, ensuring clear objectives and providing the necessary skills and competencies to deliver required performance levels.
  4. Deliver detailed requirements arising from the annual budget setting plan, ensuring the annual budget is set in a timely and accurate manner, and contributing to the periodic medium-term financial plan.
