Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function for our client, a small to medium-sized charity organization based in Halifax. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the organization's financial sustainability through the day-to-day management of all financial services, controls, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation of management accounts, cash flows, and forecasts, as well as year-end accounts and oversee the year-end process.
  • Advise the board on financial direction and provide strategic guidance on financial matters.
  • Lead the finance team and work closely with other departments to ensure effective financial management.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the organization's financial risk and ensure that all financial transactions are properly authorized and recorded.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with experience of managing the finances of a small to medium-sized organization.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality financial reporting up to board level.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work at all levels across the finance function, including preparation of management accounts, cash flows, and forecasts.
