As a Data and Privacy Manager at Barclays, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital landscape. Your expertise will drive innovation and excellence, harnessing cutting-edge technology to revolutionize our digital offerings and deliver unparalleled customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions, leveraging industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  3. Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing, and stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations.
  4. Implement secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  5. Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  6. Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience leading a data privacy function and working on multiple projects with a grasp of data privacy issues across multiple policy areas.
  • Relevant experience in working in a data privacy environment and managing compliance and data privacy within system architecture.
  • Strong technical skills, including industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
