Trainee Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to train as an Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Successful candidates will work collaboratively with consultants and the multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.

The role will be based at both Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton, working in a 26-bedded Local Neonatal Unit providing 3 ITU, 6 HDU, and 17 special care cots. The unit forms part of the East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (EMNODN).

Successful candidates will work closely with the team to develop a wider service that encompasses the needs of the community. Across site, we care for babies over 27 weeks gestation requiring all levels of care. We pride ourselves on our excellent standards of care and facilities, with an open, honest, and caring team approach.

Families have access to an extensive Allied Health Care support team, and there is a dedicated Paediatric Clinical Education Team who support the education and training of all nursing staff.

This is a trainee post, paid at Band 7 with uplift to Band 8a on successful completion of the ANNP course. The course is currently an apprenticeship held at Coventry University.

Admission onto the course is dependent upon having Maths and English GCSE Grade C and above, but options can be discussed with Angela Burden on enquiry of this post.

Professional experience
  • Demonstrable experience as Band 6 Sister.
Qualifications
  • NMC Registration.
  • GCSE maths and English Grade C and above.
