About the Role

The Village Pub, a charming English country inn, is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a key member of our brigade, you will support our Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, and maintaining a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and plating to meet our high culinary standards.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop menus, manage inventory, and control food costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Support the development of our award-winning apprenticeship program, mentoring and guiding junior team members.
