RD&A Senior Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RD&A Senior Technologist to join our team at Kerry in Bristol, UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative meat and meat alternative systems in collaboration with our Thai RD&A team. This role will involve working closely with customers to create new concepts and renovate existing products, ensuring they meet UK and European market requirements.

This is a collaborative role that requires strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality products within tight launch timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food science and technology, as well as experience in the meat industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development on projects initiated by European customers, ensuring products meet manufacturing and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop innovative solutions to grow customer and Kerry's market share, while ensuring products are cost-effective and meet customer expectations.
  • Create value-added products with a point of difference from competitors, leveraging Kerry's expertise in food formulation and manufacturing.
  • Build strong relationships with key personnel within allocated accounts, via visits, presentations, and attending trials in customer factories.
  • Work closely with commercial account personnel to understand customer requirements and win new business.
  • Ensure ingredient functionality meets customer expectations, overseeing projects from concept to production.
  • Develop food system formulations and related applications, demonstrating a deep understanding of food formulation and chemical interactions.
  • Provide customers with the best available products, developing an understanding of market trends, manufacturing capabilities, and ingredient restrictions.
  • Work in partnership with customers and the Kerry cross-functional team to deliver products from concept to launch, within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain awareness of developments across Kerry, with a focus on Thailand, and incorporate these into new developments, providing instructions for customers.
  • Ensure Kerry Taste and Nutrition is at the heart of all concept development.
  • Carry out competitor and product awareness analysis, including sensory product evaluations and retail reviews, as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • BSc in Food Science or equivalent, with higher degrees advantageous.
  • Experience in the food industry, particularly in meat end-user markets.
  • Creative and innovative thinking, scientific and technical expertise.
  • Practical, value-based problem-solving.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Greater independence.
  • Learning agility.
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across regional and internal teams.
  • Able to travel across countries.
