About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our Flooding Improvement Process (FLIP) devices throughout the Thames Water region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine planned preventative and reactive maintenance of Sewage drainage System FLIP devices in restricted chambers.
  • Perform electrical or mechanical installation work at properties and sites where FLIP devices are installed.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Report on the condition of FLIP devices and identify spares and maintenance requirements.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and training support for technical trainees.
  • Liaise with external customers at properties where FLIP devices are installed.
  • Demonstrate adherence to Health and Safety policies.
Requirements
  • Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems working in a multi-skilled capacity.
  • Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering.
  • Ideal candidate will have been upskilled with a mechanical qualification to allow inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosing, testing, installing, modifying or repairing mechanical and electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
  • NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering with an upskill qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3 would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.
  • Physical fitness is required as the work will involve working in restricted spaces.
  • A valid driving license is essential.
