Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients, incorporating assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care.
  2. Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, leveraging expertise in assessment and diagnostic skills to inform clinical decision-making.
  3. Take on a proactive role in reducing GP workload, utilizing clinical expertise to streamline care delivery and enhance patient outcomes.
  4. Assess and manage patients presenting with acute illness or chronic disease conditions, utilizing a range of clinical skills to inform care.
  5. Provide expert consultation and triage services, including face-to-face, telephone, and video consultations, to meet the diverse needs of our patients.
  6. Diagnose, plan, and implement treatment interventions, ensuring seamless coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care, engaging patients and their carers in the care planning process where possible.
  8. Prescribe and review medication, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice and national protocols.
  9. Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest clinical developments and best practices within the scope of practice.
  10. Contribute to the development and refinement of the Paramedic Practitioner role, aligning with the ethos of Island City Network.
Person Specification
  • Essential: Five years or longer post-paramedic qualification, including three or more years at band 6 level, with a working knowledge of General Practice and experience with Primary Care IT Systems.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council, completion of an undergraduate degree/diploma in Paramedicine, and a two-year Consolidation of Learning period as a newly qualified paramedic.
