Job Opportunity

Consortium Professional Recruitment is partnering with a leading firm to find an experienced Technical Design Lead. This role involves managing a team responsible for developing and improving product designs using SolidWorks. The successful candidate will lead the team and contribute hands-on to the day-to-day design tasks, ensuring all projects align with strategic business goals and meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design team in creating and developing new products and components using SolidWorks.
  • Ensure all designs meet functional, aesthetic, and performance specifications while adhering to industry standards.
  • Participate in daily design tasks, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support to the team.
  • Oversee the engineering and continuous improvement team, turning innovative ideas into manufacturable designs.
  • Collaborate with external customers to ensure design requirements are captured and incorporated into product development.
  • Supervise the structured product development process from concept through to production readiness.
  • Manage resources efficiently to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Candidate Requirements
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within design, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong expertise in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, creating assemblies, and technical drawings.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team, effectively prioritizing tasks and allocating resources to meet objectives.
  • Hands-on experience with product lifecycle management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset, with the ability to work across departments and guide technical projects.
Benefits
