Job Summary:

The Vice Principal – Educational Excellence & Innovation role at Surbiton High School is a strategic leadership position that focuses on driving educational excellence and innovation. The successful candidate will lead the development of learning and teaching strategies, ensuring a tailored approach for every pupil.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development of learning and teaching, ensuring pedagogical practices reflect the School's ethos and promote interdependent learning and creative thinking.
  • Develop and implement innovative whole-school projects to enhance the School's educational offerings.
  • Evaluate current learning experiences using evidence-based research and collaborate with the Vice Principal (Academic) on curriculum matters.
  • Manage the development of assessment, reporting, and tracking in the Senior School, staying updated on relevant research and technologies for the monitoring of pupil progress.
  • Develop a common approach to tracking pupil progress, collaborating on academic intervention strategies, mentoring Heads of Department, and overseeing the coordination and monitoring of homework.
  • Promote digital literacy among pupils and staff, sharing best practices for technology and AI in learning, and implementing relevant structures and policies.

  • A good first degree and a postgraduate teaching qualification.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • A passion for digital innovation and AI and keeping up with innovative teaching methods.
  • Personal qualities including a positive and energetic approach, commitment to the School's ethos and vision, and a dedication to professional development.
