Medical Specialist in Older People Mental Health Services

Navigocare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist to join our team in Older People Mental Health Services. As a Trust Doctor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the provision of effective and efficient care under supervision in an inpatient setting.
Main Responsibilities- Provide medical services to in-patients in our old age inpatient unit, promoting a community philosophy in all aspects of practice.
- Assist in training for students, including nursing, occupational therapy, social care staff, psychotherapy, and medical professionals.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluating the quality and outcomes of service delivery, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Operate within national and local policies and procedures, maintaining a working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Child Protection guidelines.
- Update and develop clinical skills in psychiatry in line with CPD requirements, ensuring all mandatory training requirements are met.
- A minimum of one year experience/training in psychiatry, with MRCPsych/Higher degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Sub-speciality or other specialist clinical training relevant to the post, with experience in approved training posts or previous experience relevant to this role.
- Ability to undertake independent assessments of inpatients and outpatients, especially elderly clients with dementia or organic disorder needs.
- Application of evidence-based practice and interest in clinical and policy developments for this care group.
