Logistics Expertise Development Specialist

Wincanton is seeking to develop a Consultancy database by leveraging the skills and expertise of its existing talent. This initiative aims to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds and skillsets to collaborate on exciting projects alongside their current roles.
Focusing initially on the P&I sector, the goal is to prove the concept and expand into other sectors, retain the company's position as logistics experts, and grow by identifying new profit streams within customers. The Consultancy team will work closely with Business Development and Account Management teams to identify opportunities within the sub-sectors of P&I.
Consultancy leads will work with SMEs to match opportunities to relevant skillsets and backgrounds. Throughout the project, SMEs will have the full support of Consultancy leads, who will help communicate any changes to clients if required.
Applicants should have a background in logistics strategy, E2E supply chain modelling, operational efficiency, network design, warehousing, transport, forecasting, systems development and deployment, financial modelling, health and safety, or employee relations. They should also possess skills such as being proactive, resilient and flexible, a team player, confident and personable, a strong communicator, customer-focused, and a problem solver.
Key responsibilities include working with Business Development and Account Management teams to identify opportunities, agreeing deliverables with clients, and matching opportunities to relevant SMEs. The Consultancy team will provide full support to SMEs throughout the project.
Applicants should be interested in showcasing their abilities in a different sector or environment, enhancing their skills and knowledge by working directly with customers and collaborating with other SMEs, and contributing to the growth and development of Wincanton.
