Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our team in the Ophthalmology department at Macclesfield District General Hospital and Congleton War Memorial Hospital.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients with chronic ophthalmic conditions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and reviewing patients, supporting with ophthalmology scans, and working across Macclesfield and Congleton sites. You will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

This role offers a unique chance to develop your skills and knowledge in ophthalmology, working in a delightful part of the country with excellent transport links.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and review patients with chronic ophthalmic conditions
  • Support with ophthalmology scans and extended role areas across Macclesfield and Congleton sites
Requirements
  • Appropriate registration with the NMC (NMC Nursing and Midwifery Council)
  • Understanding of accountability and ability to prioritise workload
  • Experience of working in an acute care environment and undertaking full range of clinical competencies within speciality
Working Arrangements

This post requires an Enhanced with Barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, payable by the successful candidate. If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years, you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance.

Salary Details

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £25-30k per annum, depending on experience.
