We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team at The Christie NHS FT in Macclesfield. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) in a safe and supportive environment.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a qualification in Adult Nursing (RGN Level 1 or 2) and experience in oncology nursing. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, empathy, and a passion for delivering patient-centered care. Additionally, you should be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide supportive care to patients undergoing SACT, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans to promote patient well-being.
- Administer SACT safely and efficiently, adhering to clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Collaborate with medical and non-medical staff to ensure seamless patient care and coordinate referrals to other services as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care and treatment plans.
- RGN Level 1 or 2 qualification in Adult Nursing.
- Experience in oncology nursing, preferably in SACT administration.
- Diploma in Health Care Studies (desired).
The salary for this role is approximately £34,000 - £43,041 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including access to professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a generous annual leave entitlement.
