Technical Bid Writer

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled bids and proposals engineer to showcase their technical writing abilities.

As a Technical Bid Writer in the Custom Projects Team at Gerrell & Hard, you will play a critical role in crafting high-quality bid responses for bespoke projects.

You will coordinate the bid response process, develop and maintain a knowledge base of standard answers and templates, and continuously seek ways to improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of our bid submissions.

Your role will involve close collaboration with various teams and senior stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality submissions that meet client needs.

In this role, you will work with a range of customers within markets including Oil & Gas, Defence, Ocean Science, and Renewables.

The Role
  • Bid Writing and Coordination: Compile, edit, and proofread commercial proposals containing technical content and designs, ensuring they are presented professionally and concisely.
  • Collaboration: Work with Project Managers and Engineers to clearly communicate the scope and timeline of new bids to customers, ensuring alignment with their expectations and project requirements.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven writing experience in a technical authoring field, ideally with a background in Engineering. Strong technical awareness, including an understanding of internet/network-based solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, particularly in written English (grammar, spelling, and vocabulary). Ability to understand technical concepts and tender questions, providing clear and concise responses under tight deadlines and challenging targets.
