Job Summary
AB Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing financial planning and analysis expertise to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients, providing lead accounting and finance input to drive business growth and profitability.
- Prepare business plans and forecasts using Excel and/or dedicated forecasting software, working closely with clients to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Oversee the production, review, and submission of annual statutory accounts, confirmation statements, and other compliance requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct pre-year-end checks with clients to identify risks and opportunities, providing expert advice on financial reporting and tax planning.
- Identify tax-efficient planning opportunities for clients and deliver solutions through to completion, including EIS investments and EMI share incentive plans.
- Produce monthly management information, tailored to clients' requirements, and debrief this to the management team.
- Attend client board meetings to present financial performance and set strategic goals for the upcoming period.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts periodically, maintaining clear supporting schedules, and post month-end accounting journals.
- Assist clients with training and consultancy advice, identifying opportunities for providing additional services.
- Oversee Assistant Management Accountants, prioritizing workload and supporting their personal development plans.
Requirements
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified with a wide range of technical accounting knowledge and capability.
- Experience in preparing management and year-end statutory accounts, liaising with clients on results, and providing financial planning and analysis expertise.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to manage a team and prioritize workload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Proficient in Excel and/or dedicated forecasting software, with experience in producing business plans and forecasts.
