SENCO Maternity Cover Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled SENCO to join our team on maternity cover. The ideal candidate will possess qualified teacher status, with 5+ years of teaching experience and the National Award for SEN Co-ordination.
About the RoleThis is a rewarding opportunity to shape the aspirations and achievements of children with SEND, working closely with supportive parents and carers.
The successful candidate will provide professional guidance and training to staff on SEN strategies and best practices, ensuring statutory requirements for SEND are met. They will also develop effective partnerships with external agencies to secure additional support and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance on SEN strategies and best practices
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for SEND
- Develop partnerships with external agencies
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status with 5+ years of teaching experience
- The National Award for SEN Co-ordination (or be working towards it)
- A solid understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
