We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Development Practitioner to join our team at East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a registered Mental Health Practitioner to further develop and drive forward the ambulance response to mental health workstreams.
Main Responsibilities- Maintain specialist knowledge of mental health and associated legislation, including the Mental Health Act and its application in prehospital urgent and emergency care.
- Provide advice and guidance to a broad range of clinicians on complex mental health situations that arise in the prehospital environment.
- Work with the mental health team to support the implementation of the ambulance response to mental health as outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan and drive forward related workstreams.
- Evidence of developed clinical skills in relation to mental health and a track record of continuing professional development.
- Attend relevant internal and external meetings to represent the strategic mental health team and provide updates on ongoing workstreams.
The post holder will report to the EOC/999 Mental Health Lead and be part of the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team across the Organisation.
Requirements- Registered Mental Health Nurse or Registered Occupational Therapist/Social Worker/Psychologist with mental health experience and expertise.
- Portfolio of CPD evidence showing commitment to personal development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information in reports using charts and graphs.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications.
- Teaching Qualification / Assessing Qualification.
- Knowledge of Ambulance Service policies, procedures, and strategy.
- Robust evidence of experience and understanding of the wider healthcare system management.
