About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Social Work Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable children and their families, making a significant impact on their lives.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a high-need caseload of complex cases involving children, families, and carers. They will work closely with multi-agency teams to develop and implement plans that meet the needs of these individuals, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor a high-need caseload of complex cases involving children, families, and carers.
  • Develop and implement plans that meet the needs of these individuals, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Work closely with multi-agency teams to ensure effective inter-agency working arrangements.
  • Carry out safeguarding enquiries and support the work of others involved in these enquiries.
  • Act as the lead professional in complex statutory cases, particularly in child protection, care proceedings, and looked after children cases.
Requirements
  • Professional qualification in Social Work and registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (or any successor body).
  • Experience of direct work with children, including assessment of need and risk.
  • Significant and demonstrable post-qualification experience in managing complex cases.
  • Accreditation in one of the following, or equivalent: 15-day Heart of Practice training and accreditation, Practice Educator training, or Accredited CPD equivalent training.
