About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paediatric Junior Sister to join our dynamic team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care and supporting the ongoing development of our paediatric services.

The post holder will work closely with the Ward Manager, Consultants, and Nurse Specialists to ensure that all patients receive high-quality services when accessing our departments. Key responsibilities include leading and developing a team of highly skilled and dedicated staff, assessing care needs, and implementing and evaluating care programs.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing a team of staff to deliver high-quality care
  • Assessing care needs and implementing and evaluating care programs
  • Working closely with the Ward Manager, Consultants, and Nurse Specialists to ensure high-quality services
  • Developing link nurse roles, care pathways, and policies to support excellent care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a Band 5 post with experience of paediatric surgery
  • Evidence of interest in paediatric surgery
  • Proven management experience
  • Knowledge of current specialist clinical evidence-based practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance
