Gardening Mentor Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Gardening Mentor to join our team at Medaille Trust, working with vulnerable women in Thanet.

About the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for leading gardening activities, sharing your knowledge and skills with service users, and supporting them in developing their own gardening abilities.

You will work closely with our staff members to deliver activities in line with agreed procedures and systems, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead gardening activities, including trimming hedges, weeding, planting, and watering plants
  • Share knowledge and skills with service users, promoting their gardening abilities and confidence
  • Work collaboratively with staff members to ensure effective delivery of activities
  • Maintain accurate records of gardening activities and progress
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in gardening or horticulture, preferably with experience working with vulnerable adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with female adults in a trauma-informed way
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of service users
  • A willingness to learn about human trafficking issues and mental health conditions, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries

Salary: £28,000 per annum
