Job Summary

The Mechanical Fitter role at Wood involves executing critical mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation tasks to ensure the overall success and efficiency of our industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance strategies to improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve mechanical issues, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure smooth operation.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and equipment to stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Adhere to strict safety guidelines, regulations, and protocols to promote a culture of safety in the workplace.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Fitting or Engineering, with proven experience in a similar role within industrial settings.
  • Pass a pre-employment medical.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and manuals, with the ability to interpret and work from technical documentation.
  • Competent in utilizing hand and power tools, with demonstrated capability in safely and effectively using a wide range of tools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and equipment used in industrial settings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety standards and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
