Job Description:

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on the frontline of our globally focussed department travelling internationally, meeting clients, colleagues and auditees. As an International Development Grant Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing tailored plans for assignments, leading meetings, leading audit teams, writing audit reports, and representing the department in person in front of multiple partners and stakeholders.

  • Assignment Planning: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the terms of reference and applicable contractual conditions to create a tailored plan for each assignment.
  • Client Representation: Lead opening meetings with clients and auditees, present findings clearly and credibly at closing meetings, and provide professional guidance throughout the assignment.
  • Team Leadership: Lead fieldwork teams on overseas assignments, or work independently, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination with local staff.
  • Reporting: Identify issues and areas of non-compliance, documenting them in detailed, precise, and clear findings within the assignment report.
  • Time Management: Demonstrate exceptional time management skills, working efficiently to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

A significant portion of your time (up to 40%*) will be spent on international assignments, providing opportunities for extensive travel and cultural immersion.

Requirements:
  • Passion for International Development: A genuine interest in making a meaningful impact in the lives of people around the world.
  • International Experience: A love of international travel, preferably with experience working or volunteering internationally.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in a second language, especially French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, or Arabic.
  • Professional Qualifications: A professional accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex ideas professionally, constructively, and respectfully.
  • Audit Experience: A proven track record in audit work, demonstrating expertise in identifying and reporting on key findings.

We offer a competitive salary of $95,000 per annum, reflecting the importance of this role in ensuring the success of our clients' projects worldwide.
