Job Title: Geo-Environmental Consultant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate to join our Geo-Environmental team in Northwich. As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Consultant, you will be working on a diverse range of projects, including ground investigations, contaminated land assessments, and geotechnical design.

Key Responsibilities:

* Become familiar with relevant standards, guidance, and legislative background to the geo-environmental and geotechnical industry.
* Supervise ground investigations involving various techniques, manage subcontractors, log and sample soil and rock to BS5930, monitor gas and groundwater, undertake in-situ tests, validation works, etc.
* Schedule chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing.
* Produce drawings (including in CAD).
* Write desk-based Phase I geo-environmental assessment reports and Coal Mining Risk Assessments (CMRAs).
* Write interpretive reports (Phase II geo-environmental assessment, qualitative and generic quantitative risk assessment, ground gas assessment, geotechnical assessment).
* Communicate with project managers over requirements, including preparing invoice breakdowns on completion of works.
* Liaison with sub-contractors and clients to assist in the delivery of projects.
* Help prepare proposals for new work.
* Comply with internal policies, procedures, and ISO standards.

Requirements:

* Undergraduate Degree (2:1 or above) in relevant subject (geology, environmental science, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, physical geography, etc).
* Postgraduate Degree or Masters in relevant subject (desirable, not essential).
* Good IT skills and comfortable with MS Office.
* Full UK driving license (manual transmission).
* Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to adapt, finding quick, innovative and practical solutions.
* A strong work ethic, able to work effectively either alone or as part of a small team.
