We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our well-established team in Northwich. As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering geo-environmental and geotechnical consultancy services to a range of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with relevant standards, guidance, and legislative background to the geo-environmental and geotechnical industry.
- Supervise ground investigations involving various techniques, manage subcontractors, log and sample soil and rock to BS5930, monitor gas and groundwater, undertake in-situ tests, validation works, etc.
- Schedule chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Produce drawings (including in CAD).
- Write desk-based Phase I geo-environmental assessment reports and Coal Mining Risk Assessments (CMRAs).
- Write Interpretive reports (Phase II geo-environmental assessment, qualitative and generic quantitative risk assessment, ground gas assessment, geotechnical assessment).
- Communicate with project managers over requirements, including preparing invoice breakdowns on completion of works.
- Liaison with sub-contractors and clients to assist in the delivery of projects.
- Help prepare proposals for new work.
- Comply with internal policies, procedures, and ISO standards.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate Degree (2:1 or above) in relevant subject (geology, environmental science, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, physical geography, etc).
- Postgraduate Degree or Masters in relevant subject (desirable, not essential).
- Good IT skills and comfortable with MS Office.
- Full UK driving license (manual transmission).
- Good problem-solving/contingency planning skills with the ability to adapt, finding quick, innovative, and practical solutions.
- A strong work ethic, able to work effectively either alone or as part of a small team.
