We are seeking an accomplished and ambitious writer to join our award-winning Comedy and Entertainment team at BBC Studios Audio. As a staff writer, you will have the opportunity to develop your own comedy projects while contributing to scripts across our output.
Our ideal candidate will possess a demonstrable knowledge of comedy, with a passion for writing and a drive to be a self-starter who instigates projects. You should have experience in writing to a brief set by others and excellent communication skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with producers to develop your own comedy projects, including narrative audio comedies, scripted and non-scripted podcasts, and links for panel shows. You will also have the chance to script edit sketch and narrative comedy shows.
About the Role- To develop a narrative audio comedy idea with funny returning characters.
- To contribute to long-running topical series like News Quiz, working to tight deadlines.
- To script edit sketch and narrative comedy shows.
- To develop scripted and non-scripted podcast ideas for development.
