Job Overview

The Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Liaison Specialist to join our Psychiatric Liaison Service team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and interventions to patients in acute psychiatric states, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments for patients in crisis, including risk assessments and developing treatment plans
  • Providing expert mental health advice, support, and training to staff as needed
  • Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care for patients
  • Supporting timely and safe discharge from hospital, including working closely with the acute Trust to avoid unnecessary prolonged lengths of stay
  • Contributing to reducing unnecessary inpatient admissions to secondary care and supporting and maintaining appropriate care packages for patients as an alternative to admission
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Liaison Specialist who possesses:

  • Current registration with a relevant professional body
  • Experience in crisis assessments and working with complex patients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Strong clinical and risk management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions
  • Experience in teaching and training, with the ability to develop and deliver training programs
