Job Title: Civil and Structural Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil and Structural Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership on civil and structural engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical engineering and safety interface with outside and third-party activities
  • Manage engineering and safety specification for the safe delivery of outside and third-party activities
  • Lead compliance with network rail engineering-driven safety requirements
  • Manage the mitigation of engineering and safety risks to the railway associated with proposed and real-time outside and third-party activities
  • Apply the concept of requirements engineering on applicable schemes
  • Assess and review all outside and third-party schemes for compliance with current legislation
  • Carry out the duties of the designated project engineer (DPE) for specific projects
Requirements:
  • Membership of a relevant professional body working towards incorporated or chartered status
  • Knowledge of project management
  • Previous experience in the management of outside and third-party activities and mitigation of risk
  • Successful relevant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi-discipline areas
  • Significant knowledge of technical, safety and performance standards and their application to asset protection activities
  • Knowledge of quality assurance
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, including auditing internal and external engineering competency
