About the Role:

The Senior Technical Service Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our customers and colleagues. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge and experience in the fire industry, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and customers, including on-site visits and remote assistance.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with the service supervisor to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements, and apply this knowledge to improve our services.

Personal Qualities:

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in the fire industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Competencies:

  • Proven experience in the fire industry, with a strong understanding of fire alarm systems and security systems.
  • Excellent technical skills, including installation, testing, commissioning, and servicing of fire alarm systems and security systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Computer literacy, with good general IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Understanding and ability to program software on mainline products, including Morley, Advanced, Kentec, and Simplex.
