Job Description

About the Role

The Production Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring that manufacturing production is programmed correctly, from a specification and timing perspective, and that supply and production factors are accounted for and managed. This role requires excellent relationships to be built and maintained across colleague and client teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with multiple departments to ensure seamless planning coordination and timely shipping targets.
  • Effectively process and manage client information, incorporating it into programming activities.
  • Regularly update production schedules for all projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of requested supplies by effectively managing and coordinating purchase orders.
  • Manage service spares and damage replacements.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with department supervisors to review progress, document issues, and assess stock levels.
  • Conduct weekly meetings across teams to gather status information, collate data, and provide management with status updates.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels, coordinating with assembly and production departments.
  • Compile and record necessary data used to inform Key Performance Indicator reporting.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients via video conferencing platforms.

Requirements

  • Scheduling experience: 1 year (preferred)
  • Experience in production planning: 1 year (required)
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills.
  • Have the ability and interpersonal skills to develop and nurture key customer and workforce relationships.
  • Be proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in conditional formatting, VLOOKUP, IF statements, and pivot tables.
  • Be proactive and reactive in their approach to ensure all planning, scheduling, and reactivity to issues are well-managed.
  • Be a strong problem-solver.
  • Possess a flexible approach and adapt to changing requirements at short notice.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills, ensuring clear and concise communications with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Have a positive and proactive attitude, demonstrating a willingness to take on challenges, find solutions, and cooperate with the ideas and solutions of others.
  • Remain calm under pressure.
  • Maintain a professional, accountable, proactive, and helpful attitude.
