Job Title: Academic Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Academic Support Specialist to provide individualised educational support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and behavioural difficulties.

As an Academic Support Specialist at New Way Tuition Ltd, you will have the opportunity to work with students who require additional support to succeed academically. You will deliver tailored lessons in English and Maths, as well as provide educational support and interventions to help students overcome barriers to learning.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support. A commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equality in education is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students with SEN, SEMH, behaviour needs, and more.
  2. Provide one-to-one educational support to students, focusing on building confidence and promoting academic success.
  3. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  4. Regularly review and assess student progress, making adjustments to teaching strategies as needed to address evolving needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, SEMH, or behaviour needs (Must have).
  • Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and behavioural challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and other professionals.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equality in education.
