Warehouse Shift Manager Job Description

About The Role:

The Range is seeking an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager to join their team at their brand-new Distribution Centre in Stowmarket, Suffolk. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse staff and ensuring the smooth operation of the distribution centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the efficient operation of the distribution centre.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including inventory, H&S, planning, and HR, to achieve operational KPIs.
  • Manage stock levels, inventory, and warehouse operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products to stores.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular team reviews and provide feedback to staff to improve performance and engagement.
  • Work closely with the Site General Manager and Operations Manager to achieve business objectives and develop the team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a warehouse management role, with a strong understanding of inventory management and logistics.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems, including Red Prairie or Blue Yonder, is an advantage.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are essential for refining procedures and policies.
