Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Preston, Lancashire. The successful candidate will provide support to the classroom teacher with additional pupil support, monitor and track the behaviour of pupils, and support pupils with additional needs and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise pupils, ensuring they are engaged in classwork.
  • Encourage pupils to interact and establish trust with them.
  • Support pupils with additional needs such as ADHD and SEMH.
  • Help pupils become more independent in their learning.
  • Promote good behaviour, deal promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policies.
  • Collect completed work and return it to the teacher.
  • Assist with supervision of pupils before and after school and at break times.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on pupil's achievement, progress, and if any problems.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field and experience working with children. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
