About the Role

This exciting opportunity is open to experienced engineers who can lead the safe decommissioning of the JET facility and non-active systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive make/buy strategy and define specifications for third-party work.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and consistency in the decommissioning programme, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage and mitigate risk by finding solutions or planning work with costed proposals.
  • Represent UKAEA at internal meetings and committees, supporting site business activities.
  • Travel within the UK and internationally as required.
Requirements
  • A strong background in engineering or a related field, with a degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in managing complex technical projects, including plant or process facilities.
  • Excellent line management skills, with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team.
  • Health & Safety or Project Management qualifications desirable.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.
