We are seeking a highly skilled Utilities Engineer to join our team at Liberty Speciality Steels. As a Utilities Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our effluent plants, pumping stations, cooling systems, and towers.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with L8 Control of Legionella in water systems for our cooling towers and domestic water systems.
- Manage the cleaning and maintenance of cooling towers/systems carried out under contract.
- Develop planned maintenance, inspection schedules, and training plans to meet statutory, quality, and engineering requirements.
- Ensure that engineering teams, specialist contractors, and plant operators comply with all statutory health, safety, and environmental legislative requirements.
- Develop long-term strategic plant replacement and improvement strategies.
- Preferably educated to degree level but with a minimum of HNC in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Technical expertise of Water services and preferably also Steam generation, Compressed air, and / or piped gas services.
- Experience and knowledge of the requirements and application of L8 "Control of Legionella in water systems would be desirable or be willing and capable of gaining such knowledge.
- Experience in man management with good communication skills, and the necessary leadership skills to be able to motivate a multi-skilled flexible workforce.
- A good knowledge of Health and Safety and Environment legislation is required particularly around Utilities with an ability to implement the requirements as part of departmental operations.
